Charging lolin d32 while off

Hello, I’m using the great lolin d32 board with a battery. What I want to do is be able to “disconnect” the charger module from the board and use a I\O switch to connect it.

In other words what I want to do is being able to charge my battery while not powering the board.

Anyone has an idea on how to do that ?

I considered the option of setting the board in deep sleep mode with the switch but I don’t find this option that good...
