Update to Kolban's ESP32 Book is Available
Just received an email from Leanpub, where I had bought my copy of Kolban's ESP32 book, that a new April 2018 version was available for download, which of course I did! I will dive into it this afternoon.
Thanks Kolban!

I'd like to say thanks too - it's a useful book that provides a good introduction to each aspect of the ESP32, and helps me work out what areas I need to dive into in more depth.

Re: Update to Kolban's ESP32 Book is Available
Again, thank you all for the kind words. There is no obvious end in sight for the work. I'll keep updating as changes come along. Since December a company engaged me for a few hours a week to work on the software side of their project. They paid me for my time which required that I give them my full attention. Since I unfortunately only have a small number of hours to work on ESP32 this resulted in me having little time to spend on new study or working the forum. However that activity has about come to conclusion and I hope to return to more book updates immediately.
Now an un-abashed advert ... if anyone has the need for a resource (me) for paid consulting work on ESP32 software development, my sign is out and open for business. I can be reached by email at kolban1@kolban.com.
The above said, that DOES NOT mean I'm going to try and hoard knowledge. I'm going to keep updating my book of notes, my plan is to continue to offer the book-of-notes for free evaluation and a modest charge request if you find use. I'm also going to try and respond to forum posts and I'm always on IRC channel #ESP32. I'll try and make time for screen shares if puzzles get hairy and we can't resolve through other means ... etc etc.

Re: Update to Kolban's ESP32 Book is Available
Quick question, Neil - do you know whether creating an account on leanpub as a reader is supported? Somehow the system knows to email me when updates to your book are available, but it's not clear to me where my "profile" exists on the site, because I haven't created an account, nor do I seem to need one to access your book. When I do attempt to create an account, it strongly hints that accounts are just for publishers and authors, so I stop there.
So what's the deal here, for readers? Do you have any insight into this?

Re: Update to Kolban's ESP32 Book is Available
Its a good question ... Ive never really considered it from a user's perspective. I opened up a browser with no cookies in it and went to the download site:
https://leanpub.com/kolban-ESP32
When I tried to download, I was told that I had to enter my email ... so that would appear to be where one enters ones email. I want to be clear, that I never get to see a user's email. I've never asked leanpub if they are available to authors but I would imagine not. Instead, on the leanpub author's page ... for any given book, I have a "dashboard" that allows me to upload new versions, change the cover page ... and when I upload a new version, am given the opportunity to "send an email to all readers". As such, Leanpub protects their relationship with the reader by acting as a broker and keeping your data safe.
I'll ask leanpub and try and get an answer for us.
