ESP32 BLE SPP mode connect to PC, emulate serial comm

Hi
I have to update a electronic board that has a bluetooth module that work wireless with a PC .
Bluetooth works as virtual serial port. The module is a server and the PC connected by comm port. I must to maintain compatibility with this system and I would like to replace the old bluetooth module with esp-wroom32. It's possible?
I have not found any examples about it. Can someone suggest me the best way to go?
Are there any examples?
