XPD_DCDC (= GPIO16) default function and reset behavior

Hi,

I am wondering what is the default function of the XPD_DCDC pin. I know this pin can be used as GPIO16 and also for waking up the chip from deep sleep. But that is not the default function that is configured after resetting the chip.

Also, even after a software reset, when all other GPIOs are untouched, XPD_DCDC returns to its default function. Which seems to be some kind of high level. Is that observation correct?
