ESP8266 NONOS SDK - Panic Handler and preserving a stacktrace

Greetings Gents, Been looking around all of good and was wondering if anyone knows how to implement a stacktrace for the ESP8266. I see the ESP32 is decently documented on overriding the Panic Handler and I may have to result into digging into the Arduino code to see how they implanted it but my whole goal is to preserve the stack trace for better debugging on the 8266 if anyone has a link / document handy on the subject. Thanks for any feedback!
