Using joystick to control ESP32 (Ps4/ps3 controller) - what WIFI setup?

Greetings -

Im looking into creating an remote controlled ESP32, which should use WIFI.

The setup should be an windows PC with an PS3/PS4 controller connected to USB, The ESP32 and the PC will be connected to the same WIFI.

How should I setup the link between the pc/controller/esp32?

should i host an windows form application, that the esp32 should connect to, or could the ESP32 host something?

Anyone worked with anything near this / have an example i could read up on?

I would first try something simple like UDP.
