Error while configuring project

Hi , I am working on flashing ESP32 SDK IN UBUNTU. I am following these steps in the document -https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... -a-project

While executing these commands in terminal

cd ~/esp/hello_world
idf.py set-target esp32
idf.py menuconfig

I am getting following error -
Please use idf.py in ESP-IDF shell environment. .' File=sys.stderr

I am unable to solve this. Help me with this

How did you install ESP_IDF? Can you try running

. /home/karthic/esp/esp-idf/export.sh

(note that is dot space /home...)
and then try again?

It works. Now i am able flash the software in esp32.
