Beta version of the ESP32-C3 Mini

Ordered am early (beta) version of the ESP32-C3 Mini 1 last Feb. 2021. Just pulled it out to start developing with it. Chip has D1H4 on it if that is if any importance. I'm wondering if all the features work on this chip, or if I am wasting my time in working with it. I tried downloading some simple app (WLED) that seems to download using esptool.py, but the ESP32 does not show a WiFi access point of WLED_AP as it should if the firmware were running. I'm using a USB connection to a Mac to do the downloads and esptool.py does not report any errors for the downloads. I've tried doing an erase followed by a bootloader then the WLED code. No problems on the downloads but no joy on seeing either the WiFi access point or the bluetooth connection.
