Hi all. It is my first post in this forum, I hope you have a happy new year!
I've been playing with the ESP32 for a few weeks, I think they are very good devices. I am assembling a GPS as a first project.
At first I bought a TTGO T-Call SIM800L and a GPS NEO 6M module (with which I am having some power problems but it is not the issue to be discussed).
My question is if I could buy a normal ESP32 and couple two modules (SIM 800L + NEO 6M) separately. The price of the separate devices is lower.
On the internet I have seen some diagrams of what I want to do (I attach images*), but the ones I have found, all go with an external battery, especially for the SIM800L module.
Could I mount a device as I say without external battery? I would like to power it through my car battery (with an intermediate regulator)
Does it have to be programmed in any specific way? The idea would be to feed it all through ESP32.
*The diagram I mentioned earlier.
