Mpu6050 Air mouse problem, "gimbal lock"

Hello friends, I am cloning in my ESP32 D1 Mini NodeMCU the n1rml project "esp32_airmouse" with esp-idf:

Everything works fine and the mouse cursor moves on the screen, but if I move the mpu6050 a little faster than normal, the cursor hangs / shakes for an instant and then continues normal.

Is that what they call "gimbal lock" and can someone help me with that problem please?

I have some other better mpu like 9250, but this project is based on 6050 and it is impossible for me to modify it with my knowledge ...
