ESP32 WROVER-E PDM interface for MP34DT05 microphone

Hi,

I have designed a custom board with ESP32 WROVER-E module which is going to be used for EdTech to teach the fundamentals of electronics, embedded programming, AI and IoT. However, I have an issue related to PDM interface of ESP32. I do have an onboard microphone provided by STM, MP34DT05. I have searched through all the possible sources and come up with that it's possible to use the I2S interface for PDM purpose. However, one of the hardware engineers of Espressif, with whom we have contact via the local distributor of Espressif, defined that ESP32 doesn not support PDM interface.

When I searched and read the datasheet, technical manuals and forum topics, I discovered that it's possible to use I2S interface. Up to now, I haven't experienced the I2S interface and I am waiting the designed board from PCB house. My question is that, is it possible to have communication with a PDM microphone with the I2S interface of ESP32?
