Esp and Motor for drag a board

Hello,

I search some informations for drag a board along a wall (about 3.5Kg). For hide a place in the wall.
But I don't find project example.
I don't know if can use a stepper motor or a DC motor, with the ESP
Witch engine power I should choose,
Worm ? rail ? for drag the board
Has anyone ever seen or make this kind of project ?

Actually I have a stepper motor (42 SHDC 3025) and a L298N Driver board but I can't spin it, it's shaking.
