ESP32 Support BT5?
Hello, does the ESP32 devices support BT 5? If not is there a roadmap in place for this?
Re: ESP32 Support BT5?
Yes! We also would be very interested in using BT5, and would love to know if/when it may be included on the ESP32 platform.

Re: ESP32 Support BT5?
You should specify which features you want to use
Long range coded phy is probably a no-go.There are four significant new features of Bluetooth 5:
A higher bit rate of 2 Mbps.
A long range mode with better sensitivity at two new lower bit rates of 500 kbps and 125 kbps.
An 8 x improvement in broadcast capability with advertising extensions.
An improved channel selection algorithm (CSA #2) which enables improved channel coordination and coexistence efficiency with other Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth traffic.
Re: ESP32 Support BT5?
Hello WiFive,
So, What is the planning to include that support into ESP32 IDF? or right now there is no any planning from your side to include it?
Because one of client is asking like is it possible to support BT 5.0 into ESP32 Device? That is why i am asking so that we can have idea to provide proper response to them.
So, I just want to know that like when Espressif team is going to plan to add it.

Someone else will have to answer that but you should ask your client same question: which specific features they need.
Re: ESP32 Support BT5?
Thanks.
I will also check with our client for specific BT 5.0 requirement and get back to you with details.
