To be fair, that test is not maintained... it depends on pretty strict timing/ordering requirements; it may very well be that the latest compiler toolchain happens to compile these things slightly differently causing this particular test to succeed even on a rev0. A better test may be to try and run ESP32-Doom on it: you'll probably see it crash.
