ESP32-D0WD-V3/UART/Flash/PSRAM: schematic review

Postby SpecialCommander2 » Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:40 am

Hello, I'm trying to build a custom ESP32-D0WD-V3 board with UART, Flash, and PSRAM. It's going to be my first schematics/PCB which is that big.

Have a few questions:
  1. USB and ESD protection for FT231XS-R: did I do it right?
  2. FT231XS-R: I tried to stick to the datasheet but I'm still not sure I connected everything properly.
  3. In general, do I miss anything? Lack of decoupling capacitors? Obviously wrong resistors/capacitors values?
Would appreciate your comments.

FYI, you can also have our hardware engineers (rather than the community here) look at your design: https://www.espressif.com/en/contact-us ... ign-review

I'm missing a RC network (at least the R for it) on MCU_RST; you need this to generate a power-on-reset.

Do you mean that instead of

I need something like

?

Maybe, if that EN has an 1uF capacitor to ground not in that schematic. Better refer to the hardware reference guidelines, section 2.2.1.
