We really want to use an ESP32 to build a CLASS1 (19dbm) Bluetooth modem.
Problem is, there's no obvious way to switch an external amplifier or FEM from TX to RX.
You can do it with WiFi using antenna switching
https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... figuration
But this doesn't work with Bluetooth.
I've found 1 reference to a call esp_tx_state_out(???) on github
https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/issues/2853
and this function exists in libphy.a
But I can't find any documentation on it.
Has anyone managed to graft an RF amp onto an ESP32?
Does anyone know how esp_tx_state_out() works?
It's a bit like fumbling in the dark
Cheers
