Use FTDI bridge device to program esp32

Postby Duhjoker » Fri Apr 28, 2017 10:48 pm

Hi guys

I accidentally knocked the Micro USB port off from the board. I see that the board has UART pins. Can an FTDI or other bridge device be used to program an esp32 board? Is there an example of this?

What's the difference between a cp2102 on the same board and on a different board? Nothing if you hook it up the same way. The only consideration is whether you have to use the buttons to get into download mode and if the inactive cp2102 on the board will hold any signal lines (probably not). Check the devkitc schematic.
