Thanks, eagerly await that document. Seems like certain peripherals may be mutually exclusive, for example DAC and EMAC. These things are important to know early in the design process so appreciate that you are working to publish it.Sprite_tm wrote:Edit: Just heard we're also going to release this information in a more palatable form this or next week.

This would be amazingSprite_tm wrote: the plan is for the ESP32 to have support in OpenOCD out-of-the-box.

Re: ESP32 is finally real?
We were designing a system for restaurants and the smart building system , and we are 6 months late because of lack of esp32 for building the firmware.
We need to have
OLED
MQTT support
NFC
BT
WIFI (would be good to have 5ghz because 2,4 has so much gaming in big cities that using it sometimes is a pain.
A few analog inputs and outputs and that is all.
ESP8266 has been used but it is to slow to much power hungry and lacks bt.
Someone in espressif told us that we will get esp32 as fast as possible but now, i think we want wait next year. I plan to hit the european market before winter. And I think that we will go for some ARM based platform.
How long we will be waiting.
?
And ones again, on aliexpress i have paid for preorder of esp32,
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/7821 ... 7689393213
and website is telling that it is shipped , is it truth ? or is it scam ?

Re: ESP32 is finally real?
Probably the seller had to mark as shipped so he wasn't forced to refund money. I don't know aliexpress policy on preorder, but they probably don't like to see so many unshipped orders due to scam/fraud prevention.Smartcontroll wrote:And ones again, on aliexpress i have paid for preorder of esp32,

Re: ESP32 is finally real?
The ESP32 will be done in August, that is when it will be available to buy. Neither we not Aliexpress sellers can ship a real ESP32 before that, I'm afraid.Smartcontroll wrote: How long we will be waiting.

Any luck on that gpio matrix list of included signals and pins?Sprite_tm wrote:The ESP32 will be done in August, that is when it will be available to buy. Neither we not Aliexpress sellers can ship a real ESP32 before that, I'm afraid.

not that i will change your mind , but if you know about the technicals from esp32 and the possibles,
i am never change the mind, not to wait for the esp32. there are more as one reason to wait for one of the best IoT ESP32 'stone of build'
low power, wifi, bluetooth -> that makes Hybrid Wi-Fi & Bluetooth
here you go, think over what you will missing if you not go on with esp32..

ah.. i think, there is no way just in time.Smartcontroll wrote:

sorry for you, this "pre order seller" was stopped, too just in time
( edit : it seems that it offers again .. )
( Therefore I have the link removed, I will make no advertising for him )
( my tip: wait for the official release )
keep smile.
there were a lot of "pre order vendor" wanted to make the quick killing.
and more people was trust in this and other.
here but was explicitly warn. each sale of esp32 before official release by espressif in august, it must be expected that there are fake or footboard driver.
there is only one original and they have pesonaly Sales Questions Personal, and that is: Espressif Systems
hope you wait for the esp32, ( btw we waiting all here - i am too )
and i am sure, we will make very rewarding, and wait we take in purchase.
best wishes

No, you're 6 months late because you designed for a product that wasn't available yet. That is bad planning.Smartcontroll wrote:...and we are 6 months late because of lack of esp32 for building the firmware.

Re: ESP32 is finally real?
Hello,
Thanks for all your answers.
I know what are the pros of ESP32 , that's why we decided to go for it.
Our firmware is based on LUA, so it needs prototype for testing and porting from ESP8266.
Months of delay ... in December sales dept. fro espressif told me that february is a final date, and also we will get a few dev samples in the first roll.
I have clients that have ordered specific solution for commercial use, with dealer network waiting to launch and business clients waiting for implementation on site.
Right now we have build everything *this is a quite huge project" from web servers backends, node stations, all firmware and software designed from scratch. the end modules are based on ESP8266 right now with sensors lcd and additional BT modules and for testing of the whole system that was just fine. But now we cannot go any further as the final product will be based on hypothetic ESP32.
So until we get sample boards on our desk there is nothing more to do.
As for now I am testing some other solutions, but more because of curiosity of possibilities than need of changing the target platform.
We will wait till August, but we need to be sure that at least a few first boards will be in our hands.
I hope that will be soon.
Cheers.
That module should have 5GHz WI-FI onboard and 800 or 400 mhz part transceiver .
The killer mode would be enabled if some of the ingeeneers would add a power line modem there as a option.
That modem would make using those modules in smart home designs really easy without need of adding the new cable infrastructure, as the modules could than use the electric lines in walls for backup communication in case of jamming signal for wifi .
Maby ESP33 will have it

Hi Smartcontrol,
Let me to share our work on LUA for the ESP32:

Maybe some is useful for you.
Best regards,
