ESP32 thing is not connecting to WIFI, even with external power

Hello,
I have a ESP32 thing from sparkfun and not matter what I do the device is not connecting to WIFI. I already used some examples provided here but nothing also I used and external power supply and nothing.

it is the same example that comes into the sparkfun's page, I tried with this one and also with other one, no one is connecting.
any idea? some error can you see?
