Hi all, and thank you for your attention. i want to report here a strange behavior of my ESP32 - wroom 32E module.
I finalized a project, and made a prototype pcb. The project counts only few element, an ldo the esp32-wroom 32E 4MB, and a switch.
As usual the esp32 module arrived already soldered to the PCB and i presume blank..... but when i power up the module, i get a current of 100 ma, and is impossible to create a connection between the serial programmer and the esp32. The flash tool times out and fails.
That seems very strange to me and i can't find a reason. Testing some unsoldered and unprogrammed Esp32 wroom 32E i get a current around 50 ma . Testing an erased stand alone module i get no more than 20 ma. So can you tell me, based on your experience, if this is normal? why i get this 100 ma current request?
Thank you guys!
Guido

No clue. 100mA certainly is not outside the realm of expected currents to an ESP32. Not much more we can say unless we know more about your hardware.
