Required long cable for ESP32-CAM Module

Postby Ritesh » Mon Feb 15, 2021 4:42 am

Hello Team,

We are having one requirement into which ESP32-CAM module has been fit and we want to extend cable of OV2640 Camera.

So Do we have any idea or any information to make it long?

Depend on how long you need, on Banggood they have 2 lenght, one short (normal size) and one longer.

Thanks. We need approximately 50 cm long cable which can be bend in between.

Actually we are making one gun shape product on which board will be fit at lower part of gun and camera will at the end of Top Part.

Please suggest or provide link if you have any for the same to fulfil that requirements.

Note that this is a fairly fast parallel interface you're trying to extend here... as it's not intended for long stretches, I wouldn't be surprised if signal degradation, parasitic capacitance, induced EMC etc would make a solution like that unusable.

Hello,

Sorry I didn't get your point.

Is that your meaning like it is not possible or it can be possible?

If you have any reference or any information then can you please share it to us?

I'm saying that on a theoretical basis, there is a high likelihood of the camera failing to work when you try this, although I can't say for sure.

Thanks for your quick response.

Let me check from my end like what can be the possible and feasible solution for the same.

I will let you know if need any further help from your end.

Is there any other way to mitigate it? using USB camera or something else?

I think it is possible but need to check all other aspects with details for the same.

Serializer/deserializer but it may not be cost effective.

Perhaps it's an option to move the ESP32 over to where the camera is.
