Need Suggestions: Liquid level detection

I have an Ai Thinker ESP32 CAM Development Board WiFi+Bluetooth with OV2640 Camera Module and a ESP8266 starter kit with me--I want to be able to use either one to achieve this. Basically, I want to setup some kind of module above my "stove" by which I can track the boiling of milk using proximity. I want to be able to collect the milk level and as it boils track it's velocity so that I can turn it off via a signal. What module would I go about using to achieve this that's compatible with the boards I mentioned above?

Non touch temp sensor? Or imersable.
Microphone - listen for boil?
Camera - watch for boil
Humidity sensor - boil humidity?
