ESP32 Dev Kit C V4 NodeMCU External Power & USB

Hi all,
I need help with my ESP32 Dev Kit C V4 NodeMCU Board from AZDelivery.

I was reading that it's not possible to power by 5V Vin and USB at the same time.
But I need exactly that, to programm the board and use the usb serial.

I've read something about a diode a before the Vin Pin will solve this issue.

Can someone confirm and recomment a diode for that purpose?

USB is already providing 5V to power everything. Why do you also want to put an additional 5V supply on VIN?
