Hello,
I have the Heltec OLED board as well as a nano mcu style clone. The clone uses the WROOM module, but the Heltec board does not seem to use a module.
I like the small size of the parts on the Heltec board and would prefer to use that design. But am I losing anything by not using the WROOM module?
Can anyone tell me which part I should select if I want to reproduce a size layout that is similar to the Heltec board?

Selecting the right esp32
Re: Selecting the right esp32
The Heltec board is based on the ESP8266 and external serial flash. For the ESP32 design you are planning, you can either use the same approach, that is an ESP32 chip like the ESP32-D0WDQ6-V3 or the ESP32-D0WD-V3 and an external SPI flash, or the ESP32-PICO-V3 (ESP32 chip, flash and passive components module in a 7x7mm SIP) which would make the PCB design simpler.
