AWS Cloudless & ESP RainMaker

I am planning on using the ESP rainmaker in my next product but what I am struggling to understand is how the AWS cloudless works with the RainMaker app.

For example, I would create my own firmware and modify the Rainmaker phone app.
But then the server program is written by Espressif and they are the only one having access to it on AWS.

How does AWS know that they have to charge me instead of Espressif?
And also what would the charges be?
