Esp32-wroom-32 Discharge circuit

This is with respect to the discharge circuit given in esp32 datasheet - Fig-5 , Page-14 (https://www.espressif.com/sites/default ... eet_en.pdf).
What is the need/purpose of this discharge circuit?

In regards to purpose of the circuit: when the power is cut off, capacitor may take some time to discharge ie sometimes upto 20 seconds and esp will report 'brownout' issues. In order to avoid we have a fet/transistor that discharges via the 1k resistor when vcc is pulled low.
