WiFi Extender for internet navigation

Postby tonydee » Mon May 04, 2020 5:54 pm

Hello,
I would like to make a not IoT wifi extender, but to extend the navigation and wifi of my router.
I've already found a project and it works on a 4mb Esp32,
but my tests indicate a passthrough of 5mb/s no more.
Is there an espressif device with higher performance to allow me a passthrough bandwidth greater than 5mb/s ?

Thanks for any help

No, there is not. The ESP32 is not designed for use as a WiFi extender; it will do the job if needed, but not very fast as you've seen. Suggest you buy an off-the-shelf WiFi extender if you need performance.

Thanks, but I wanted to design a battery-powered mobile wifi extender for use in the garden, and to propose it. I understand in this case I have to switch to other hardware development.
