BT Receiver RF Blocking certification tests

Postby mwheatley » Tue Jan 28, 2020 7:31 pm

Hi, I've been tasked with obtaining European CE certification for a custom ESP32 device using WiFi/BT/BLE. All of the transmit testing has been achieved using the ESP_RF_test_tool and our application code. The last test is the Receiver Blocking tests which we figured out for WiFi and for BLE required exposing the HCI interface to a uart port. The test lab is using a Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 Comm tester to perform these blocking tests.
The problem remaining is the BT classic Rx blocking test. Apparently there is yet another test mode that must be invoked that somehow does an RF loopback test that does not use the HCI interface.
I've found nothing to provide a hint as to how to invoke this mode or if it is even implemented on the ESP32 bluetooth stack. It is called out in the BT specification but does not give any insight as to how to invoke or if there are parameters that need to be setup first etc.
Any pointers or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Moe
