ESP32 can get in bootloader mode after deep sleep

Postby Matheus.Goulart » Thu Jan 23, 2020 6:05 pm

Good morning,

I started working with ESP few days ago and recently begin with my first project using ulp.
The idea was to set a cyclic time to wake ESP32 from deep sleep.

After a few try, he got in the deep sleep mode and never woke up again. After a few time he starts to heat up.
Is there a way that my code broke my esp?

When i use make menuconfig didn't show anything, and i can't get in the bootloader either. The current he is consuming is nearly 200mA.

I was using esp-idf pulse count example as a base.

Best reggards,

Hi Matheus,

Is it possible the chip is bootstrapping into the wrong mode when it wakes up? What GPIOs are connected to it? Suggest cross-referencing against the list of strapping pins in the ESP32 datasheet.

Are you able to monitor the serial output when the ESP32 wakes up?

Hello,
I jump into this post since I think my request is connected:
I'm looking for a reference documentation that explains how to use menuconfig script available in the ESP-IDF SDK. I have just installed version 4.1, but I cannot find a document that explains the different options made available by "menuconfig" character graphical interface.
Please, help.
Thank you and best regards, Sergio

Hi Sergio,

I'm not sure how this is related to the posts above, but you can find a guide to using menuconfig here:
https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... -configure

And a detailed reference for the configuration items, here:
https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... onfig.html
