SPI Slave data transfer rate in half duplex mode

Hello,

In the documentation (https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... slave.html) it is mentioned that the SPI slave can run up-to of 10 MHz in full duplex mode. I wanted to know can the speed go up if we use it in half duplex mode ? Is this possible or limited as SPI slave runs as a general purpose device controlled by CPU ?
