ESP32-WROVER name and functionnality

Postby ffb_boy_30 » Wed Dec 04, 2019 6:59 am

Hi,
I'm looking for a board on the mouser website and I don't understand the link between the name and the capabilities
for example :
ESP32-WROVER-I (16MB) or ESP32-WROVER (16MB) , it is written WIFI MODULE 128MBITS SPI FLASH
ESP32-WROOM-32D (8MB) it is written WIFI MODULE 64MBITS SPI FLASH

Does it means that there is an SPI flash chip with 128Mo or 64Mo in the module ?
what is the 16Mo or 8Mo ? because the esp32 have only 4Mo of flash

Thanks

No, these modules have 16 and 8 Mo (MBytes) of flash. Keep in mind that e.g. 16MB = 16MegaByte = 128 MegaBit = 128 MBits
