ESP32 JTAG JLIN debugger connection problem

Postby asl007 » Wed Mar 27, 2019 9:48 am

Hi,

I am trying to use JTAG debugger with the Olimex ESP32-EVB.

I have followed the instructions for connection in this post https://www.olimex.com/forum/index.php?topic=6039.0
and also the espressif tutorial here https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... p32-target

When I run bin/openocd -s share/openocd/scripts -f interface/ftdi/esp32_devkitj_v1.cfg -f board/esp-wroom-32.cfg
I get this output

Open On-Chip Debugger v0.10.0-esp32-20190313 (2019-03-13-09:59)

Warn : Flash driver of esp32.flash does not support free_driver_priv()

Can you help troubleshooting this.

Thanks

Do you mean "JLink" debugger? Please check your arguments to OpenOCD, currently they say "interface/ftdi/esp32_devkitj_v1.cfg". If you aren't using ESP-WROVER-KIT, you need to use a different interface file. OpenOCD has one for Jlink.

Hi,

Yes it is JLINK, my mistake.

SO I have tried to run the command with jlink config file bin/openocd -s share/openocd/scripts -f interface/jlink.cfg -f board/esp-wroom-32.cfg

But I get some errors:

bin/openocd -s share/openocd/scripts -f interface/jlink.cfg -f board/esp-wroom-32.cfg

Have been researching about it but I am not able to get it solved

Thanks
