Using ESP32 as an out-of-the-box wifi module

Postby ilan_sw » Tue Mar 26, 2019 1:43 pm

Hello, all!
I want to add WiFi connectivity to my system, which is an MCU with several peripherals.

1. Can I connect an out-of-the-box ESP32 and use it as a WIFI module that supports HTTPS and TLS, using only AT commands? Or does it require a firmware update?
2. what are the needed pin connections? are UART RX, TX, 3V3 and GND enough?

Thanks!

Unless you can find a supplier who ships AT firmware preloaded you have to load it
