PSRAM on ESP32-WROVER

Hello, i'm selecting a ESP32 module for my application and i saw that the ESP32-WROVER between some diferences (for wroom) have a internal PSRAM chip for memory. I read about PSRAM but can't figure out. My question is, the PSRAM memory on ESP32 is for a bigger sketch (like a HD on PC) or for faster processing (LIKE a RAM on PC)?

Its for bigger dynamic amount data in ram. PSRAM is slower than regular ram on esp32.
