ESP32_LyraT: No Internet Access

Postby artieTwelve » Sun Dec 30, 2018 6:49 pm

I am trying to run the examples in the esp-avs-sdk. I am using the instructions provided at:
https://github.com/espressif/esp-avs-sd ... yrat_alexa
Running "git describe" in the esp-idf folder returns: v3.1.1-80-ga18f92b09
Boards: ESP-LyraT V4.3 and ESP-LyraTD-MSC_A V2.1
I have the Expressif Android app on my nexus phone.

I am able to build and flash on Windows using a msys2 environment.

After flashing, I am following the instructions in section 3 of this document:
https://www.espressif.com/sites/default ... ide_en.pdf
To summarize, it says to press the reset button and the green LED should start flashing to indicate that the device is now searching for a network. I press reset but the LED does not flash. I press and hold "Set" for 6 seconds but there is no voice.

After looking around, I noticed that the users guide shows four .bin files being flashed, but the output of "make -j12" shows that the command sent to esptool.py contains only the bootloader, the partition and the app itself. There is no audio-esp.bin file created and/or available to be loaded. So my guess is that this is why I don't hear the voice when hitting the set button.

Perhaps the voice .bin is not necessary for the application to function on the device. That's fine. It's the lack of network connectivity that is real problem. I can see "ESP-Alexa-XXXX" on my phone but the line "No Internet Access" appears below it.

I have tried this with both boards and all of the examples. Same result.

Anyone have any ideas on what to try next?

Thanks.
