The relatively new HTTP Client library is likely going to be of use to you ... see:

Also search the forum for previous discussions on using libcurl.

The ESP-IDF also comes bundled with a version of cJSON ... see:

esp_http_client seems to be the right thing

Now I am having a small big problem:

When using platformio, how to include the .h file?
I tryied

#include "esp_http_client.h"

and

#include "esp_http_client/include/esp_http_client.h"

but without success
