ESP IDF in Linux Fedora

Postby murugesh_89 » Sun Jun 10, 2018 10:05 am

Hi,

Is it possible to have a development platform ESP IDF installed in Linux Fedora?

I would like to install E2 Studio for my works in Fedora.

Can i have the tool chain and ESP IDF for fedora?

Any links or documents will be more helpful..

If you would consider you distribution of Fedora a Linux environment then there should be nothing to prevent you from downloading the toolchain and ESP-IDF to that platform. I haven't seen anywhere that said that the Linux development tools for ESP32 applications were Linux distribution specific.
Free book on ESP32 available here: https://leanpub.com/kolban-ESP32

Hi murugesh,

The Getting Started guide steps for Fedora should be very similar to the CentOS steps in the Getting Started guide:

https://esp-idf.readthedocs.io/en/lates ... setup.html

If you notice anything which is different, please let us know.
