Heltec ESP W32 Kit with OLED (beginner)

Postby candrews » Tue Jan 23, 2018 1:44 am

i recently purchased two of these: MakerFocus ESP32 Development Board WiFi with 0.96inch OLED Display WIFI Kit32 Arduino Compatible CP2012 for Arduino Nodemcu https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076KJZ5QM?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
i am a very much newbie. does anyone know where is or if there is any sample code for this product? i have managed to combine several different code samples to create a wifi scanner that outputs to the OLED. i'm not certain if what i did was best practice or just kludged together. For instance, is there a best way to talk to the OLED? i read on the datasheet there are many builtin sensors but have no clue where to begin to access them or the bluetooth or real time clock.
is there anyplace you are aware of that focuses - even slightly - on this chip ? or am i such a newbie that i need to read a lot more before i realize just how silly a question this is?

using Arduino IDE Beta. i thought since chip is new that the latest IDE would be more up to date.

BTW - if anyone is interested i would be glad to share the .ino of the scanner
thanks,
carl

I have made a millisecond clock poc on a similar OLED.
Shows some basic concepts.

You probably need to change the pin definitions.
