on weekend at online chat / project we tried this and that and one of us has a small problem with share com in host / guest
after some doings the things run.. but there was a small mistake in menuconfig onetime - can't reprocedure again
later this was gone.
os: windows 10
with VM 5.6

perhabs you have a look to this pic, there was Serial setup doubled.

Interesting. That essentially means the flasher component was detected twice or the Kconfig of it was included twice. I haven't got the foggiest idea how that would happen outside of explicitly duplicating the esptool.py component directory.
