Hello everyone, I have bought a couple of boards https://es.aliexpress.com/item/ESP-32S- ... 0.0.pitsuQ in aliexpress, and I find that some functions of the examples don't work, like boot_counter in the example sntp or esp_sleep_get_wakeup_cause () in the deep_sleep example. I also note that pin marking is different from official information, for example it does not have the 5V pin.
I know that these boards are not official, but I would like to know if they can have something to do with the punctual errors in the examples, the review it shows is 1 and they work well for everything else.https://es.aliexpress.com/item/Official ... 262.itSNy4
https://es.aliexpress.com/item/ESP32-De ... 265.itSNy4
What difference does it make with the https://esp-idf.readthedocs.io/en/lates ... vkitc.html? apart from the price.
Greetings and thank you.

Well, these boards seem to be using an official ESP32-Wroom module, so the differences mostly are in the type of USB-serial converter, power supply, and physical things like pinout. As far as I can see, the examples you mentioned should just work. Can you post what problems you had with them?

Hello ESP_Sprite, thank you for your reply. Yesterday, after searching for a lot of information and doing a lot of tests with the examples, I updated the IDE and toolchain, and now everything works perfectly.
I believe that these boards I have bought do not have a 5v output to supply peripherals at this voltage. On the official board the pin marked with 5V is for that purpose, right? Like in arduino.
Greetings,

The ESP32 is a 3.3V chip, so it can't output 5V and peripherals which expect that will not work indeed. The 5V chip of development boards usually is connected in parallel with the USB power supply in some way: you can use it to e.g run the board off a 5V PSU if you do not want to use USB.
