Esp32-cam image sucks

I just started with this guy. I loaded esphome and home assistant. It works except the image from the camera is very dark unless the area is brightly lit. I have the brightness at +2 but that just gets me where I am now. I have read about the uv filter, but not sure that is my issue. This is that OV2460 model. Thanks for any info you can provide. I don't need a perfect video just something I can tell what is happening 15 ft away

I also have a similar experience. I need to turn on the lights even in the daytime. I use OpenCV for my projects. Without sufficient light, it is likely to get misleading results. Keeping its size in mind, the image quality looks OK anyway.

It is hard to figure out what will work. I ordered a OV5460 I am going to see how that works
