ESP-drone Android APP

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum - I couldn't find anywhere appropriate.
The controller app for the ESP drone project (linked from this page: https://espressif-docs.readthedocs-host ... arted.html) won't install. It (Android) complains of security issues, partly because it is "built for an old version of Android", but even after overriding eveything still says "app not installed" with no further information.

Is this a common problem? Is there an updated version? If not, what's the solution?

You have to enable installation from unknown sources (Settings > Security > Install unknown apps) for the browser or file manager you’re using to open the APK.

It was even worse stupidity than that - I was reading the text "Install anyway" simply as text with the "OK" button below it as OK that. Actually the text itself is the link to install anyway, and the OK button is to acknowledge the blockage.
