I purchased a ESP32-Audio-kit (ESP32 Audio Kit V2.2 A404) on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B63KZ6C1?re ... asin_title). When I connect the board to the UART (USB) port my computer does nothing. Typically I hear the USB device detected sound in Windows 11 and the Device Manager starts shifting around while it finds the driver.
In this case, nothing happens in Windows. The only activity I see is the green LED light up on the board.
I remember having a similar problem with some cheap Arduino's I purchased on ebay. It turns out Microsoft is very adamant to only use authentic UART -USB chips. At least with the non-Microsoft approved UART converters the device manager detected as an unknown device.
I will check on my Ubuntu machine to see if the behavior is different. All the FTDI and UART chips that Windows 11 did not detect worked in in Linux.
