"new" components

since latest linking of an application with newestESP-IDF brought up some errors, I compared actual components with an older version.
There are some new components:
- app_trace
- console
- esp_adc_cal
- heap
- libsodium
- wear_levelling
In my case at least heap seems to be the problem.
Whats the best place to find description description for these new components and how to use them ?
From naming, esp-adc-cal looks interesting to me.
I'm pretty sure, nkolban will add them to his book sooner or later.
But, between us, I'm an nosey guy
