ESP32-LyraT -- Wireless Audio & AI

Postby hassan789 » Sun Aug 27, 2017 4:59 am

Exciting news:
http://www.espressif.com/en/media_overv ... awMDnjft7M

Looks the board "will be available for purchase from late September onwards".
Will the demo code be released at that same time or is there a preview build we can play with already?

:D

It is indeed interesting. I would like to get one if it is not too expensive. Anyone know what is price ranged like?

The code will be most interesting, should they release it. A fully featured audio player and smart speaker sounds very delicious.

Support for mainstream lossless audio formats: ALAC, AAC, FLAC, OPUS, MP3, WAV, OGG, etc
do you think it will have an external decoder or everything will be implemented in software? It would be great to have those decoders in esp-idf...

I think their 1st design had an external HW codec chip (which would cost $$). I hope they have fixed that now, and have a SW based solution.

Yes, we do have both the 1st design (using a h/w codec) as well as the current design (using a s/w codec library). I'm not sure what the extents of the release will be, that is, if we can/will also release source code.

well a software library to decode compressed audio (mp3...) would be a great addition to the esp-idf!

Can you share us the LyraT Schematic?

We will be releasing it eventually, but don't expect it within days - last thing I heard there were still some minor kinks to be worked out of the board.
