Need help with troubleshooting boot issue on esp32 wroom

Hello...
I flashed this chip that is living on an emporia vue 2 board and was able to access all the functionality i intended to flash.
But as soon i attached it to the original power supply it did nothing...besides a lid power led.
Back on the flasher, i am having issues getting into booting/running it or boot loader...just once in a while it boots up and i am able to reflash via ota or via we console

I am using the available 5 volt, rx, tx ground and en header on the emporia vue 2 to attach the flasher.
Now i would like to know how i can troubleshoot this/repair this so that the esp boots into the flashed image on regular basis.
