esp-idf idf.py not working in vscode terminal

I just finished un-installing and re-installing esp-idf (both the build tools and the vscode extension). The reason I did that was to roll it back to version 5.1.2 for compatibility with the esp32-arduino library. Now I'm having a problem with the terminal inside of vscode doesn't seem to work with esp-idf. I get the following error when I open a new terminal, but I'm not sure what to do about it. Any ideas?

Note that idf.py works correctly when I open an esp-idf powershell. It just doesn't work in the vscode terminal.
