Matter: Connect temperature sensor to heating system

What would be needed so that a Matter-enabled heating controller would get a temperature value from a specific Matter-enabled sensor?

Yeah...but how will that look like in a real scenario where a customer uses a temperature sensor from supplier A and a heating system from supplier B?

Would I need to develop a smartphone app to add both devices to the same fabric and then create the cluster client/server connection?
