Hi,
I am not sure if this is the best place to ask - but thought i would give it a try.
We are a small electronics business, manufacturing general, simple controls for many years, but have recently encountered several requests for IoT type interfacing. Feeling a bit left behind, we want to move in this direct, but are struggling with both the technical requirements and just decided the best route.
The more we read, the more complex things get. We are looking for easy steps to get started.
Our applications consists of simple 8 bit Microchip PIC controls with a number of relay's and some general IO's.
We want to be a able to add a board onto our control and achieve the following:-
1, Using an Android or IOS device, connect to the add-on board, receive status information from our control via the add-on board and set the status of the relay's on or off.
2, Receive stored information on our control board for checking, this may be activation times or general variables - and display this on the device.
3, Do the same as above, via a browser.
4, Ultimately, we would want our customers to be able to this this, for example, they purchase controls from us, but create view and control their own devices.
So our question is - is this something that Rainmaker can help us with?
If so, what is the simplest (as we are at the beginning of our development in IoT) way to get started? Which development board would be best?
Any guidance would be greatly received.
Getting Started?
Re: Getting Started?
Any of the ESP32 devices can do what you want.
The ESP32-S3 IMHO has the best bang for buck. I suggest you start with the ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 v1.1

The head over to the examples to get a leg up on things you want to do.
