Error while building bt_spp_initiator project

Hi guys, I created a new project because I will need to establish classic BT connection between two ESP32 Dev Kit boards. I used the bt_spp_initiator but when I am tring to build the project in VS Code I got this erro message:
static assertion failed with "please enable bluetooth in menuconfig to use esp_bt.h". Please can you help I checked the sdkconfig file and it looks like BT is anabled.

I can add that the same error I got with the bt_spp_acceptor.

I tried the ESP-IDF Full Cean button but it seems to be the same. The error message is:

I somehow managed to build and flash the project but the error is still there (I checked the menuconfig and everything seem to be OK. I also tried to set the target to esp32. Not sure if this one is OK but it works).

Anyway regarding the bt_spp_initiator and bt_spp_acceptor is there any code description ? I would need to simplify the code because the only thing I need is to set BT calssic conection between two ESP32 Dev Kit boards based on their names and exchange data. If the conenction is lost for some reason it should try to reconnect. No pin codes, nothing extra.

Yes, I found them as well but the second link I tried to set the target to esp32 and the error is till there. I am a beginner but I think nothing elese what could help is in this topic. May be I am wrong.

The first link honestly I am not sure becasue it is regarding BLE but I can cechk the post with "#define CONFIG_BT_ENABLED 1".

Do you really need Bluetooth then?
ESP-NOW may be much easier to use and requires less flash, RAM, and CPU resources.

I am working on a BT remote control for an external antenna tuner. I already tested the control part on Arduino bords and ESP32 bords via Arduino IDE.

Unfortunately, via arduino IDE it is not possible to sniff correctly display data from an oled display which is a part of the project. The sniffer works correctly only from IDF and that's why I was forced to switch here. Small dissaster for me because I am lost in IDF.

You did mention, and your blog confirmed, that you need wireless communication between two ESPs. The easiest way for ESP<->ESP RF comm is ESP-NOW. If you don't need to TX/RX with non-ESP devices (smartphone?) and don't care about any of the features Bluetooth offers, i.e. security, multiple services on a device &c., then I see no reason not to go with ESP-NOW.

OTOH, it shouldn't be difficult to adapt the SPP example and remove functionality (security/PIN,...) you don't need, or just use the example code as-is with the standard PIN.
Yet, the complexity and amount of code you'll need even for the most basic SPP functionality over BT is much greater than ESP-NOW.

I met the same problem with you but can't solved it either. I guess it's because VSCode can not call the doc "sdkconfig" like a .h file. Please let me know if you have solved this problem.
